What To Expect
1
Lalaurie Mansion
Get acquainted with a certain Madame Delphine MacCarthy LaLaurie. Once a respected member of New Orleans high society, LaLaurie has gone down as one of the most brutal killers the city has ever seen.
2
Old Ursuline Convent Museum
Watch out for vampires stalking the Old Ursuline Convent, one of the most mysterious and alluring sites in the whole French Quarter. The Ursuline nuns were among the first groups of women to settle in the New World, and their story weaves Catholicism with ghosts, vampires, and historic hauntings dating back to New Orleans’ first settlers.
3
Historic BK House & Gardens
Cross the street from the convent to the Beauregard-Keyes House, and keep watch for Caroline – the house’s resident cat. She may nuzzle against your leg or stop to lick a paw, but the bell round her neck will make no sound. Under the stairway in the courtyard, you’ll find Caroline’s name engraved on her tombstone, and realize she’s an apparition. Listening to your guide here at the house, you’ll realize she’s far from alone...
4
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar
Visit the legendary New Orleans dive bar Lafitte’s, where tales of smuggling, privateering, and hauntings have been circulating since the early 19th century. As one of the French Quarter’s oldest buildings, patrons have often reported paranormal activity – making this stop a highlight of our New Orleans ghost walking tour.
5
Jackson Square
Soak up the atmosphere in Jackson Square, in the heart of the French Quarter. Look out over Saint Louis Cathedral as neighborhood artists, street performers, and psychics entertain the crowds, and discover remains of the old city in the historic Place d’Armes Hotel – one of New Orleans’ most haunted hotels.
