French Quarter
The French Quarter, since 1718 is one of the oldest communities in the U.S. I will take you through this over 300 year old area in a Pedicab & give you a history lesson. You will see & learn about the 7 sub areas of this historic 7 X 14 block crown jewel. 1. The Mississippi River – Why NOLA was founded 2. Jackson Square - Home to St. Louis Cathedral since 1727 3. The French Market - Since 1791, the oldest outdoor market in America 4. Frenchman Street - The premier music street in NOLA 5. Royal Street – Architecture, Shopping, Restaurants, Museums 6. Residential - 200 year old multi-million dollar creole cottages 7. Bourbon Street - The vibrant nightlife Truman Capote once described New Orleans as, "of all secret cities, the most secretive, the most unlike, in reality, what an outsider is permitted to observe, The French Quarter may be its most secretive.” Famous for its nightlife, there lives a community in love with the area's timelessness and its beautiful buildings.
