What To Expect

Space Center Houston

Meet your guide OUTSIDE the visitors center after parking your vehicle. Look for your guide near the flag poles wearing a red NASA baseball cap. Your guide will have your Genral Admission tickets. View an excellent introduction to NASA's vision for human space flight. Visit the Starship Gallery, touch a real moon rock and walk through an actual space station. These are the real spacecraft that carried NASA astronauts into space. Go inside the Space Shuttle at Independence Plaza. Your guide worked on this engineering marvel for 17 years. View the Apollo Lunar Lander that took astronauts to the surface of the moon. Take a rest break and enjoy some optional food and drinks at the Space Food Lab.

Space Center Houston

Take a tram ride through the NASA Johnson Space Center. Note that the tram is exposed to the weather. So, please dress accordingly. Visit the Rocket Park, including a guided tour of an actual Saturn V rocket that launched the Apollo astronauts to the moon. Your expert guide will explain how these massive rockets worked and answer your questions in terms that you will easily understand. This is really big and very impressive display.

Space Center Houston

The tram will return you to the main visitor's center. Your guide will show you the amazing rockets that he worked on. After the guided tour, you will have some time on your own to wander around the spacesuits and spacecraft, do an optional thrill ride, and shop for NASA souvenirs.

Please note that tours of Mission Control are separately managed by the Space Center Houston, with limited availability. Your tour guide is NOT authorized to lead you though a private tour of the Historic Mission Control facility. Depending on availability, you may be able to visit Mission Control as part of a separate group tour after your private guided tour of the Space Center has finished. If this additional group tour of Mission Control is something you would like to do, please contact your guide to make these special arrangements in advance. The sooner the better :-)
